The EDiT Study
The EDiT Study is a research project being conducted by Sheffield University. The major part of this study is a survey aimed at doctors in training. I designed and built a site using Wordpress as the CMS. I also developed the survey using a third party survey provider. The survey was integrated into the website using the survey provider's API combined with a custom Wordpress plugin. I also developed another custom Wordpress plugin which enabled the researchers to post short "quizzes" on the site, testing the knowledge of medical students and awarding prizes to the winners.

DQ
DQ, one of Sheffield's most popular alternative nightclubs and live venues, asked me to design and build their new site. The site is built on Wordpress and makes extensive use of advanced Wordpress functionality, such as the new Wordpress 3 "custom post types", which allows DQ to easily add event listings to their site.

Online Basics
Online basics is a new course currently being run by UK Online Centres, a government organisation designed to help people learn how to use computers and the Internet. I was provided with Photoshop designs, from which I created a standards compliant website built on the Joomla CMS.
-
Eros Research
EROS is a £2.1m research project being undertaken by five universities investigating how people regulate emotion. In collaboration with a graphic designer, I developed an attractive yet functional website built on the ExpressionEngine CMS. The site makes use of a number of JQuery effects including a unique slide down menu.

ConsultIWP
ConsultIWP is the commercial arm of the world renowned Institute of Work Psychology. I designed and developed the full site, utilising ExpressionEngine as the CMS. As well as providing information about the services provided by ConsultIWP, I created an extremely simple to use, but highly effective events management and booking system for the many training sessions and workshops that ConsultIWP regularly runs.

People and Noise
People & noise is the personal website of freelance copywriter, music events consultant and charity worker. He wanted me to create a visually appealing blog site which would be easy to update. The site was built on Wordpress.

The Institute of Work Psychology
The Institute of Work Psychology is a world renowned research department at Sheffield University. They wanted a site which would allow them to easily publish information about their research and postgraduate courses, as well as informative articles on work pyschology. Working with a graphic designer I developed the site using the ExpressionEngine CMS. The site features advanced content management techniques which proved extremely useful when managing the extensive database of academic publications.

Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens
Rob Cole is a local kitchen fitter who needed a simple website to advertise his services. As the main site updates would be to the gallery section, rather than integrating a full CMS, I made use of the Flickr API which allowed Rob to easily add photos to the site by uploading them to his Flickr gallery.

Threads Productions
Threads is one of Sheffield's most successful independent club nights. They wanted a site to advertise their nights as well as to build an online community. Working with a graphic designer, I built a community based site using Joomla as the CMS and included a message board.
Note: site is no longer online, screenshot taken from initial mockup.

Urban Gorilla
Urban Gorilla my own successful club night which has been running for over 8 years. The website I created was built on Joomla and featured an active community of over 2000 users. I also developed a PHP ticket purchasing and management system which allowed us to sell tickets at a greatly reduced rate compared to rates being charged by third party ticket vendors.
